What is Reiki?


Reiki is the life-force energy that flows through all living things; 'Rei' - (Univeral Life) 'Ki' - (Energy)


Reiki is an ancient spiritual healing art with its roots steeped in Japanese origin. 

It is a subtle and effective form of energy work. It is not based on any religion or religious practice and can be successfully received by anyone regardless of their belief system. 


The Usui Reiki Method of Natural Healing is a safe, gentle, non-invasive yet powerful and effective form of healing.

Research shows that Reiki can help relieve tension and ease stress, support self improvement, promote well-being and can help the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. It also works in conjunction with all other medical, therapeutic and holistic techniques and therapies. 

Reiki is becoming widely used in hospitals and clinics as an adjunct to traditional care,  with research and data showing conclusive evidence of the biological benefits of Reiki.

During a treatment, the client remains dressed and can either lie comfortably or seated in a chair. The practitioner will transmit the Reiki energy either by the placing of hands on the clients body in various positions or by holding the hands a few inches from the clients body in their energy field (aura/biofield). I also offer the added option of using crystals placed on the seven main chakras to facilitate healing. Actual touch is not necessarily required and it is also possible to conduct a distance Reiki session without the client being present, whilst still being able to fully receive the benefits of the treatment.
